A Sydney socialite and entrepreneur has ‘hard launched’ her new boyfriend on Instagram this week, with her post quickly going viral. Some would say for the wrong reasons.
Kristen Fisher, 40, the eastern suburbs’ go-to celebrity brow expert, shared a carousel of photos to officially debut her new relationship with Shannon Sykes, a Morgan Stanley finance worker who is 12 years her junior.
The lovebirds’ pics included snaps of their romance – but it was a photo of the 28-year-old in a controversial T-shirt that got people really talking.
It was a white T-shirt with a risque slogan emblazoned on the back, while he stood next to Kristen’s daughter, Lila, 12.
The $60 T-shirt, from the brand Frased, read: ‘Your mom is my cardio’.
As Sykes wore the divisive shirt, Fisher’s daughter sat on the couch under a blanket, smiling while flipping the camera the bird.
Another photo showed him wearing a T-shirt with a close-up of Fisher’s face on it.
In other snaps, the pair are enjoying each other’s company on the beach, at black-tie events, on road trips, sunsets, coastal walks, breakfasts, and while sipping hotel poolside cocktails.
“Instead of replying to the 8000 DMs, texts, voice notes etc … Here he is, ladies and gentlemen, immortalised on the grid,” Fisher captioned the post.
“The rumours are true! I am spoken for. And yes, I bought him the T-shirt in slide seven.”
Her fans and friends rushed to the comments to praise the post, with one saying they were an “insanely good-looking couple” and someone else writing that the photos brought her “so much joy”.
“We love a strong launch,” Amy Gerard, fellow influencer, wrote.
“Betting his LinkedIn is busier than Mecca on a beauty loop weekend!” someone else joked.
Then the attention turned to the T-shirt.
“The shirt, though,” someone wrote with a laughing emoji.
“No, no, the T-shirt kills me,” added another.
The Daily Telegraph’s Confidential called the choice of ‘cardio’ shirt “baffling” – given a child featured in the image.
The hard launch comes as Fisher appears to be re-entering Sydney society circles after several years of public controversies.
