It’s a crisp May night at the MCG for Scott Pendlebury’s record-equalling 432nd game.
Pendlebury is warming up with his teammates about an hour from the start of the game. Just over an hour from the first bounce, he’s wearing the warm-up top, shorts and tights on his legs.

Standing just outside the 50-metre line, he’s not going a whole heap, chatting to teammates while flipping the Sherrin in his hand.
There’s no curtain-raiser, so many of the crowd are either on their way in or having dinner and drinks in the many establishments near this magnificent venue.
