Filipino-American singer Jessica Sanchez graced the stage of “It’s Showtime” and delivered a powerful rendition of Benson Boone’s “Beautiful Things”—which earned her a golden buzzer from judge Sofia Vergara at the “America’s Got Talent” season 20.

The “AGT” champion, who earlier arrived in the Philippines and had performed at the 48th Asean Leaders Summit in Cebu, opened the noontime program on Saturday, May 9.

After her performance, Sanchez then expressed her excitement for her first major concert in Manila on May 16, which will feature Vice Ganda as one of the celebrity guests.

“I’m so flattered! I’m gonna be there!” Vice Ganda exclaimed. “Excited ako. Dati napapanood ko lang ‘yung performances niya sa [‘America’s Got Talent’].”

Sanchez, for her part, said in turn, “I’m so so excited to be back in Manila, to be here with you guys, my Madlang people, and to be performing with you.”

The two further recalled Sanchez’s guesting on Vice Ganda’s show “Gandang Gabi Vice” in 2019, as well as the latter meeting the singer’s grandmother.

Sanchez also served as a guest judge at the show’s “Tawag ng Tanghalan” segment on Saturday.
