The women’s tennis team faced the Scarlet Raptors of Rutgers University–Camden on Saturday afternoon in the ECAC Division III Championship Match indoor at Arrowhead Tennis Club in Medford, New Jersey.

The Bearcats concluded the season as regional runners-up, falling 4-2 to the host Scarlet Raptors.

Doubles play featured several tightly contested encounters. Maria Calvo Prado and Alexandria Garrett dropped a 6-4 decision at second doubles, while Malika Khaknazarova and Jacqueline Moreno battled in a competitive 6-3 loss at third doubles.

At first doubles, Aishika Yadav and Lucia Herranz Sanchez delivered an impressive 6-1 victory. However, the win did not count toward the final score after Rutgers-Camden secured the doubles point by claiming two of the three matches.

The Bearcats responded in singles competition, beginning with a dominant performance from Lucia Herranz Sanchez, who earned the team’s first point with a 6-2, 6-0 victory at third singles.

Aishika Yadav added the second point for the Bearcats with another commanding 6-2, 6-0 win. The victory marked Yadav’s 17th singles triumph of the season.

Despite several strong singles performances, the Bearcats were unable to rally past Rutgers-Camden in the championship match.

The women’s tennis team closes the season with a 9-8 overall record and its second consecutive runner-up finish at the ECAC Division III Regional Championship.
