Nicole Kidman shared a rare throwback of her and her daughters, Sunday and Faith.
In the photo, taken in 2015, all three sported their natural tight curls.
Kidman previously said that girls with curly hair should “not follow in my steps and straighten your hair.”
Nicole Kidman doesn’t give her natural curls very many outings these days—but it’s even more unusual to see her two daughters, Sunday and Faith, wearing their hair curly. However, in a new Instagram post, Kidman showed off a very rare moment when all three of them sported matching curly hair.

The photo, which was taken by Will Davidson in Uluru for a 2015 issue of Vogue Australia, sees Kidman playing with her daughters in front of the park’s iconic red rock. All three wear off-white dresses and brown boots. “To my beautiful girls, the greatest joy is being your mother. Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers in the world 🩷🩷🩷,” Kidman captioned the post.

Kidman has made a habit of sporting her natural curls when she’s off-duty in recent months. Last year, she also expressed regret at ever straying from her natural texture. “Why did I straighten my hair?” she said while looking at old photos of herself during an interview with Allure. “I loved my hair there. That is my natural hair. Isn’t that crazy?”
She added, “So for all the little girls out there, embrace the curl. Do not follow in my steps and straighten your hair.”
Although Kidman may believe in embracing the curl, it seems her two daughters, whom she shares with ex-husband Keith Urban, are following in her footsteps and straightening their natural curls, too—at least from time to time. Sunday, 17, and Faith, 15, joined their mother at an event in March and all three wore their hair in gentle, loose waves.
Sunday also joined her mother at the Met Gala last weekend, where they both wore their hair smooth and straight. “For Nicole and Sunday’s first Met Gala together, I wanted the hair to feel like a quiet, effortless thread between them,” Virtue’s creative director and hairstylist Adir Abergel told InStyle of their look. The goal was “something soft, modern, and a little playful, like that French-girl je ne sais quoi…not overthought, just lived in.” They both used Virtue Healing Hair Oil to achieve the look.
