Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor made a creepy five-word remark to a flight attendant after complaining that his bottle of water was too cold and shoving it “down his trousers”.
Royal biographer Andrew Lownie recounted the inappropriate moment in the updated edition of his book Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the Duke and Duchess of York, which details the scandals that led to the accelerated downfall of both Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah ‘Fergie’ Ferguson.
According to Lownie, the former prince – who has faced fresh scrutiny over the past couple of months after being mentioned multiple times in the Epstein files – was working as a senior royal when he undid his fly and made a creepy comment in front of a British Airways crewmember.
“A stewardess on a first-class British Airways flight to New York in 2010 tells of how, after he requested a bottle of water, he complained it was too cold,” the royal expert writes under the subtitle Strange Behaviour.
“She apologised and said all the water was in the chiller, so ‘he undid his flies, shoved the bottle of water down his trousers’.”
According to Lownie, Andrew then said, “This will warm it up”.
Elsewhere in the chapter, Lownie details the astounding list of demands Andrew had while travelling abroad, including the exact foods he required as well as the behaviour he expected from his staff, such as curtseying.
Other additions to the UK bestseller paint a picture of Andrew’s life following his fall from grace at the end of last year, detailing the stripping of his titles and how he spends his time now that he is no longer a working royal.
A well-placed source told Lownie that Andrew has been playing video games and watching golf in order to pass the time.
“He prioritises gaming over work, health and hygiene. The video games provide him with the instant gratification that his actual life most often is devoid of,” they told the author.
Lownie’s book, which was released in August last year, has flown off shelves in the wake of Andrew’s renewed scrutiny and sold over 18,000 copies in its first three days on sale.
