Surprise Italian champion Filippo Conca has already found a place in the WorldTour. The Italian, who stunned his rivals at the national championship with a victory as a rider for an amateur team, has committed to Jayco AlUla as of now and will make his debut with the Italian squad on the Circuit Franco-Belge on August 15. He signs with immediate effect and will have a place in WorldTour until 2027.
At 26 years old, he finds himself with another great opportunity in professional cycling after riding for Lotto in 2021 and 2022 and Q36.5 in 2023 and 2024. He was riding for the Swatt Club amateur squad when he beat the likes of Alessandro Covi, Thomas Pesenti and Giovanni Aleotti at the Italian Championships. Like in a fairy tale, he has earned his return to the elite of world cycling in the cycling market.

“I am very happy to join Team Jayco AlUla. I chose this team because I am confident that I will find the ideal environment to work hard. Before making my decision, I consulted with my teammates and staff, and everyone told me that in Jayco AlUla I would find a family that can support me both personally and athletically.
Another thing that is important to me is that I will continue to use the same material that I have been using this year: Giant and Cadex. I’ve had a great experience with both, so I’m happy to be able to continue with the same bike and wheels.
My dream is to ride the Giro d’Italia and to do it wearing the jersey of the Italian national team. I think it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I want to thank Team Jayco AlUla for the trust they have placed in me; I am sure it will be rewarded.”
Filippo Conca won the Italian Road Championship.

“Filippo clearly has a lot of talent, and that was demonstrated not only by his victory in the Italian championship, but also if you look at his previous results. Unfortunately, he suffered several setbacks as a professional cyclist that prevented him from showing his full potential. Now we are pleased to give him all the support he deserves to reach his most ambitious goals.”
“I would like to personally thank Carlo Beretta and his team at Swatt Club for facilitating this transfer of Filippo and being so supportive of both him and us. It has been a pleasure dealing with Filippo and his team, and we look forward to working with him,” he concluded.
