Arjun Tendulkar, son of legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, reportedly got engaged to Saaniya Chandhok on Wednesday (August 13).

The ceremony was attended by close friends and family from both sides. So far, neither Arjun Tendulkar’s nor Saaniya Chandhok’s families have issued any official statement.

Notably, Saaniya is the granddaughter of well-known Mumbai businessman Ravi Ghai.

Who is Ravi Ghai?

Ravi Ghai is a well-known figure in Mumbai’s business and hospitality sector. He heads the Graviss Group, a conglomerate which has successful ventures in food and hospitality.

He is the man behind well-known brands and properties like the InterContinental hotel at Marine Drive and the ice cream brand The Brooklyn Creamery.

After completing his studies at Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration, Ghai took charge of the family business from his father, Iqbal Krishan Ghai, in 1967, The Economic Times said in a report.

In the years that followed, he launched Kwality Ice Cream, started the Natraj Hotel (now InterContinental), and brought the Baskin-Robbins franchise to countries in the SAARC region.

At present, he is the Non-Executive Chairman of Graviss Hospitality Ltd and holds roles in other companies. His son, Gaurav Ghai, currently serves as chairman of the Graviss Group.

Graviss Food Solutions Private Limited, the main company of the group, posted revenue of Rs 624 crore in FY23-24, showing 20 per cent growth compared to the previous year.

It has an authorised capital of Rs 2.23 crore and a paid-up capital of Rs 90,100. The family also owns the InterContinental Hotel in Mumbai, which is part of the InterContinental Hotels Group, a global hospitality brand valued at $18.43 billion in August 2025, according to News18.

Who is Saaniya Chandhok?

Saaniya Chandhok, granddaughter of Ravi Ghai, works as a Designated Partner and Director at Mumbai-based Mr. Paws Pet Spa & Store LLP, India Today reported.

She is known for maintaining a low public profile.

An Instagram post by the company shows that she founded the business. She graduated from the London School of Economics and, in late 2024, earned a Veterinary Technician diploma from the Worldwide Veterinary Service.

Recently, online users found photos of Arjun’s sister, Sara Tendulkar, taking selfies with Saaniya during a Jaipur trip earlier this year, as well as attending several IPL matches with her in past seasons.

Arjun Tendulkar, unlike his father, is a left-arm medium pace bowler and represents Goa in domestic cricket. He has so far played 17 first-class matches, 18 List A games and 24 T20s.

In his career so far, he has taken 37 wickets in red-ball cricket, 25 in List A and 27 in T20s. He has also scored 532 runs in first-class matches and 102 runs in List A games.

The 25-year-old made his Ranji Trophy debut for Goa against Rajasthan in Porvorim on December 13, 2022. Batting at number seven in the first innings, he scored 120 runs from 207 deliveries. His father also scored a century on his Ranji debut.

In the IPL, Arjun plays for Mumbai Indians. He made his debut in the tournament on April 16, 2023, against Kolkata Knight Riders at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. In that match, he bowled two overs, conceded 17 runs, and did not take a wicket.

In the IPL 2025 mega auction, Mumbai Indians bought him for Rs 30 lakh. However, he did not play any match for the Hardik Pandya-led side this season.
