The venue is fast coming to be seen as one of the best, if not the best, in Scotland for amateur boxing, and evidence of the way the club has gone from strength to strength in the last five years was clear from their latest bill, with 15 home-grown fighters on the night’s card, all against top opponents from all over Scotland and England.

The show was opened with a win for Logan McEwan against Malakai from Seven Hills ABC; there were also wins for Corie Stewart, Ewan Hunter, Luke Folan, Noah Wadell, Julio Findlay, David Irvine, Jordan Hayter and, at the top of the bill, Jerrel Johnson, who was up against an English champion from Seven Hills.

The only disappointment on the night came when Robbie McMaster’s English opponent pulled out at the last minute.

Robbie, however, will be back in the ring at Parkhead on May 30 when he competes for a Boxing Alliance Scotland select team against their English counterparts.

A club spokesperson said: “The club would like to thank every sponsor who made it such a successful event and everyone who bought a ticket.

“The club will be back next year for another great night for the town.”
