Brisbane‘s premiership defence has taken another hit, with star back-rower Jordan Riki set for a stint on the sidelines with a foot injury.
Riki has been dealing with the issue in recent weeks and the club confirmed on Monday night he would undergo surgery.
It’s expected the 26-year-old Kiwi gun will miss at least a month of action.

“Jordan Riki will undergo foot surgery on Tuesday morning to help relieve plantar fascia discomfort he has been managing in recent weeks” a statement said.
“A return-to-play timeline will be determined following surgery.”

Riki has played every game for the Broncos this season, averaging 106 run metres and 39 tackles for the defending NRL premiers.
He will join a stack of last year’s grand final-winning team on the sidelines, with the likes of Payne Haas, Deine Mariner, Brendan Piakura and Corey Jensen out injured.

Haas is due back in round 14 but would potentially go straight into the NSW Blues side once he is available to feature in the State of Origin series.
