Monday marks another milestone of the 2026 NFL offseason as the first day of organized team activities (OTAs) around the league, with eight teams reporting.
While it will be good to see players back on the field, fans won’t see much activity as they would in a normal football practice. Per the NFLPA, players are not allowed to wear pads except knee pads, elbow pads and helmets.

No live contact is permitted, but teams can conduct 7-on-7, 9-on-9, or 11-on-11 live drills. OTAs lead into mandatory minicamp, which is the last offseason event before the preseason begins with training camp in late July or early August.

While OTAs don’t have the same football feel since live contact isn’t allowed, that doesn’t mean there aren’t storylines to watch:

The new Tennessee Titans stadium isn’t ready yet, but it reportedly already has a signature event. The 2030 Super Bowl — otherwise known as Super Bowl LXIV — will reportedly be played at New Nissan Stadium, according to NFL Network.
That’s not finalized yet, but NFL owners are expected to approve the motion at the league’s spring meeting Tuesday, per Ian Rapoport.

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Jacoby Brissett is not in attendance at the start of OTAs, per Ian Rapoport.
Brissett was expected to hold out through the voluntary session as he aims for a new contract.
Ahead of the 2025 season, the veteran QB signed a two-year, $12.5 million deal to be the backup to then-starter Kyler Murray.
Brissett ended up starting 12 games, and with Arizona releasing Murray in the 2026 offseason, the veteran projects to be the starter next season.
The QB is set to make up $4.88 million in base salary and be a free agent at the end of the season. That would rank 13th among starting quarterbacks, but if you consider Brissett’s total cash amount of $5.44 million, he would rank 26th in the league.

Hill’s calling card is speed, and it remains to be seen if he can hit the gears that make him special having just turned 32 and coming off major knee surgery last September. It’s a good bet he signs somewhere; maybe a reunion with the Chiefs?

While teams begin OTAs this week, the NFL owners will meet in Orlando, Florida.
These meetings typically include league votes and give the owners a chance to meet and discuss league-wide topics.
One of the topics expected to be discussed this week is the league awarding the 2030 Super Bowl to Nashville. The Tennessee Titans will be in their new stadium by then, and the league is expected to give them the sport’s biggest game in four years.
Another topic of discussion will be an update from the Chicago Bears owners about the status of a new stadium. They are expected to reiterate that the only viable options for the franchise will be in Arlington Heights, Illinois or in Hammond, Indiana, per ESPN’s Courtney Cronin. Either way, outside the city limits of Chicago.

The Pittsburgh Steelers had several shakeups along the offensive line this offseason, having lost starting left guard Isaac Seumalo in free agency and with the status of former first-round pick and starting left tackle Broderick Jones (neck) remaining up in the air.
According to Steelers beat reporter Alan Saunders of Steelers Now, this is a look at Pittsburgh’s initial offensive line configuration at OTAs:
Left tackle — Troy Fautanu
Left guard — Mason McCormick
Right guard — Spencer Anderson
Right tackle — Dylan Cook
Notably, first-round rookie Max Iheanachor is working behind Dylan Cook at right tackle.
The Athletic’s Mike DeFabo reports that Jones was present at OTAs but that he did not work in any team drills during the media’s open period. That news comes following reports that Jones suffered a setback in his return from a season-ending neck injury, while the team declined his fifth-year option this offseason.
