Spencer Pratt is dealing with safety concerns amid his bid to become the next mayor of Los Angeles.

Pratt’s campaign recently shared a statement with the Daily Mail from his head of security, who revealed that the 42-year-old father of two — who shares sons Gunner, 8, and Ryker, 3, with wife Heidi Montag — has received “credible threats” on his life.

“In response, we have increased and adjusted his security detail accordingly. We are also working closely with the LAPD to ensure the ongoing safety of Spencer and his family,” the head of security told the outlet. “I will not be providing any further details. Our sole focus is the protection of Spencer and his loved ones — not feeding tabloid speculation.”

The outlet reported that the reality TV star’s “team also confirmed that he’s been in contact with the Los Angeles Police Department regarding the threats.”

As In Touch previously reported, on April 29, The Hills alum — whose home tragically burnt down in the 2025 L.A. wildfires — released a campaign video on X saying “This is where I live,” while standing in front of an Airstream trailer.

However, TMZ reported on May 13 that Pratt was actually residing at the Bel Air Hotel, and Montag, 39, and their two sons are staying in Carpinteria, California. Pratt explained he was getting death threats, so he was opting to stay at the hotel since it has “its own armed security [and] that has become the only option.” Additionally, he insisted, “I have never told anyone I lived there,” referring to the trailer.

“The reality is the Bassholes and Ramaniacs are a little bit whacko, and since I destroyed them in the debate, and am surging in the polls, they are getting increasingly desperate and hostile,” he shared. “I can’t talk about specific threats, but that lot is … unsafe now.”

In a new campaign ad shared on social media on Monday, May 18, Pratt puts his own spin on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air theme song, rapping in front of his trailer parked at the Bel Air Hotel.
