Simone Callahan has shared a touching tribute late to her ex-husband and cricket legend Shane Warne in a birthday post for their son Jackson. 

The celebrated cricket icon died in March 2022 while holidaying at a villa on the Thai island of Koh Samui.

He left behind three children, whom he shared with his ex-wife Callahan.

Callahan posted a heartfelt birthday tribute to Jackson Warne as he celebrated his 27th birthday, including a touching message that “Dad is shining down on you”. 

“Happy 27th Birthday Jackson. I love and admire watching you grow into the man you are today. Keep Dreaming big.”

“I know Dad is shining down on you. He would be super proud. Love you Freddy.”

The caption accompanied a montage of images from throughout Jackson’s life, many of which featured his late father.  

Callahan has made the gesture a tradition for her children’s birthdays, regularly paying tribute to her former husband, with whom she shared an 18-year relationship with and was married to for 10 years.

Last year, she wished her and Warne’s daughter Summer a happy birthday, writing: “Dad would be so proud, his baby girl. The Favourite,” alongside a similar montage.

In another post during a holiday to Puerto Banús in Spain, Callahan shared images from what she described as her and Warne’s go-to destination for many years.

“So lovely being back with Brookie, Jackson and Kiah,” Callahan wrote alongside a montage of videos, some including her then-husband Shane Warne by the pool with their three young kids.

“Such a beautiful town in southern Spain. So much love for this wonderfully friendly country. Joyful times, great memories.”

In another post, Callahan shared images of Warne with his three kids, captioned: “Shane’s greatest love. Our children Brooke, Jackson and Summer.”

“Shane was taken too soon from their young lives,” she wrote.

“Eternal love remains & will never leave. Vale Shane.”

The couple divorced in 2005 and briefly rekindled their relationship twice before their final split in 2010.

Warne announced the separation in December 2010 amid reports of an alleged affair with British actress Liz Hurley, whom he dated for about three years. 

“Sadly and unfortunately Simone and I split up a while ago. Our close friends and family were informed at that time,” Warne said in a statement posted to his website.

“It is a private matter so we did not make it public. We remain friends and will continue to be good parents.”
