The Maroons will have added motivation for the Origin series with retired forward Jai Arrow set to be invited to be a part of their camp following his heartbreaking MND diagnosis.

Arrow shocked the rugby league world by announcing his retirement from the game on Tuesday after a gut wrenching diagnosis for motor neurone disease.
The 30-year-old called time on his illustrious rugby league career after 12 tries in 178 games for the Broncos, Titans and Rabbitohs.
The courageous forward also played 12 Origins for the Maroons from 2018 to 2023 and won series in 2020, 2022 and 2023, his final season in the arena.
The Courier Mail now reports Arrow could play a part in helping his state’s 2026 campaign with Queensland coach Billy Slater planning to offer him the chance to be involved.

It comes after Maroons superstar Kalyn Ponga said Queensland players were supporting Arrow in his fight.
“It’s definitely been spoken about in this camp,” Ponga said on NRL 360.
“I played a lot of footy against Jai and he’s one of those guy you didn’t want to play against because he was so passionate played aggressively but after the game you wanted to have a beer with him.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his loved ones.
“One thing about Jai is he’s a strong bloke. There’s a journey ahead of him but he is a man that’s fit for it.”
