Nine’s chief AFL reporter Tom Morris has provided an in-depth update on the trade and free agency landscape, as we enter the final fortnight of the home-and-away season.

It is set to be a monstrous off-season, with superstars still out of contract and clubs having more flexibility than ever to get trades done, now with the ability to trade picks two years in advance.

Speaking on 9News Melbourne, Morris provided the latest on numerous players on Wednesday night.

Free Agents:

Oscar Allen (West Coast): “Lock this in, Oscar Allen will be at Brisbane next year.”

Sam Draper (Essendon): “Nothing official, but it is expected he departs Essendon

Tom De Koning (Carlton) and Leek Aleer (GWS): “St Kilda is poised to nab free agent Tom De Koning and trade target Leek Aleer.”

Out of Contract:

Jack Silvagni (Carlton): “He met with senior Dogs officials midway through last week and they’re well in the hunt here. I can’t really split them with Collingwood, with Essendon and North Melbourne is the other team he has met in recent weeks.”

Adam Treloar (Western Bulldogs) and Tom Mitchell (Collingwood): “They’re keen to play on, but no contract offers yet from their clubs.

Marcus Windhager (St Kilda): “Marcus Windhager was unimpressed with St Kilda’s initial offer to him as clubs watch him.”

Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera (St Kilda): “He still hasn’t told anyone if he’s staying or if he’s leaving at all.”

James Worpel (Hawthorn): “James Worpel is every chance to be at Geelong next year.”

Brandon Starcevich (Brisbane): “Brandon Starcevich has offers from Victorian clubs and also West Coast.”

Contracted:

Harley Reid (West Coast): “He’s the big fish among the contracted ones to watch. If he asked for a trade, I firmly believe Hawthorn is at the front of the cue.”

Rowan Marshall (St Kilda): “Rowan Marshall will assess the Cats once Tom De Koning walks to Moorabbin.”

Liam Ryan (West Coast): “Liam Ryan has interest from St Kilda.”

Ned Reeves (Hawthorn): “Ned Reeves could easily head to the Eagles as part of a possible Harley Reid trade.”

Zak Butters (Port Adelaide): “He will more than likely leave as as free agent in 12 months, but it is the Hawks, the Cats and the Dogs who will have a throw at the stumps this year to see if they can pry him out.”
