A Sydney vice chancellor has urged the federal government to urgently scrap a controversial policy that has pushed the cost of some arts degrees beyond $50,000, warning the scheme is out of step with Australia’s skill needs in an AI world.
Coalition education spokesman Julian Leeser on Sunday also called for the Morrison-era Job Ready Graduates scheme to be revisited across the board, with Labor yet to act on recommendations that found the policy had failed and should be replaced.
