The Atlanta Braves have been the best team in Major League Baseball in 2026 so far. They are 36-18 on Memorial Day, and they’re firmly in first place in the NL East and the National League as a whole.

Looking around Major League Baseball, only the Tampa Bay Rays still have fewer than 20 losses on the year, a sign of how good the Braves have been to begin the season. The question now is how far this Braves team can go in 2026.
ESPN’s Alden Gonzalez predicted that the Braves will continue with their red-hot start to the season and become the only team to accomplish a feat this season, one that hasn’t been done in the last few years.
Braves predicted to be lone team to 100 wins in 2026
In response to the question of: “How many teams will win 100 games this season, and who will finish with the most wins?” Gonzalez shared a straightforward prediction: “With all due respect to the Rays and Milwaukee Brewers, the answer is one — the Braves.”

The Braves reaching 100 wins this season would be very impressive, and with their .667 winning percentage, they’re on pace to win well over 100 games this season.
Gonzalez is predicting the Braves will reach such a 100-win total this season, but that there won’t be another team to accomplish the feat this season.

Even with how good the Rays, Los Angeles Dodgers, Milwaukee Brewers, Cleveland Guardians, and New York Yankees have been this season, the Braves are the lone team predicted by Gonzalez to reach 100 wins.

No team has reached 100 wins since 2023, when the Braves did so with 104 wins, while the Baltimore Orioles also reached 101 wins, and the Dodgers won 100 games.
Winning 100 games out of a 162-game season is a very impressive feat, and the Braves are predicted to be the only team to reach such a win total this season, snapping a three-year streak without a 100-win club.
