Players’ Weekend doesn’t start until Friday, but Bryce Harper brought out a custom bat early.

The Philadelphia Phillies star debuted a fire-themed bat for the Phillies’ series-opener against the Washington Nationals on Thursday.

Players’ Weekend gives players the chance to use custom bats, helmets, cleats and other accessories to display their personalities and interests. Some players take the route of showing love to those close to them, like their kids, while others just like to get creative with their custom gear.

Last year, Harper used Crayon bats and let his kids color on them.

As Players’ Weekend nears, a handful of players have given fans a glimpse into what gear they’ll be using. Boston Red Sox third baseman Marcelo Mayer will use a custom Lightning McQueen bat from the movie “Cars.”

His teammate Alex Bregman plans to use a bat featuring Wally the Green Monster.

Harper is enjoying a solid season, notching 18 homers and 50 RBI with a .256 batting average. The Phillies have also fared well this year, sitting atop the NL East at 69-51.
