He has been replaced by Korean Do-Yeob Mun, the current KPGA Tour points leader. The roster change comes on the eve of this week’s event in South Korea and means the team will have four Koreans, although Lee was born in Incheon before moving to Rotorua.
Lee can continue to play the remaining six events as a wildcard but would need to finish in the top 34 to secure a spot for next season, should LIV Golf continue in 2027.
According to National Club Golfer magazine, Lee has earned US$11,380,407 ($19,379,296) since he joined the rebel golf league.
The future of LIV Golf remains up in the air following last month’s announcement that Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund will stop financing the league.
