As the uncertainty around LIV Golf’s future grows, the league has made a significant change to its broadcast offering…

LIV Golf are working on a plan to refund fans after dropping one of the key features from their broadcast.

When the league began its eighth event of the season in Korea on Thursday, it emerged that the “Any Shot, Any Time” feature was not available as part of the broadcast offering. LIV customers can pay a total of $59.99 per year or $8.99 per event to showcase shots from any player and live streams of specific groups as part of their tournament offerings.

The premium feature used AI technology to allow viewers to watch any shot they would like, and was lauded by LIV’s fans as it became a popular part of the league’s app.

But it was confirmed to the Sports Business Journal on Thursday that the feature had indeed been axed.

The cost for LIV to run the feature at each event across the world has not been disclosed, but it’s understood that the league is considering how to evaluate its production model with key decisions to be made to ensure LIV’s survival. Dropping this feature was described by a LIV official as a “strategic decision”.

Some fans on social media expressed disappointment the feature had been cut, while LIV are planning to refund those who bought annual passes.

LIV, meanwhile, are currently scrambling for a future without the backing of the Saudi Public Investment Fund, which confirmed last month it was withdrawing its multi-billion dollar funding.

TG has learned that several players have offered the league financial leads for potential investors, while plans have been made for a truncated season with fewer events in 2027.
