In some of the daytime photographs that were shared from the Windsor wedding, King Charles can be seen in the background. He is the only royal, apart from Meghan and her husband Prince Harry, to appear in the snaps shared by the duchess. While this could be a coincidence, one royal expert thinks it was intentional, and said Meghan was sending a message to her husband’s father.
“The message is, ‘We’re still very much part of your family.’ That’s what Harry and Meghan need because I don’t think they knew when they cut themselves off – with Harry’s book and the Oprah interview – just how alienated they were going to be.”
While Harry, 41, saw his father last September, Meghan has not seen the King for a number of years.
This is because she has not accompanied her husband on one of his UK trips since 2022, when they stepped out at the late Queen’s funeral.
It is believed this could change this year when Harry jets to the UK from Montecito to attend a one-year countdown event to the Invictus Games 2027, which will be held in Birmingham.
