Unified light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol will defend his titles against Germany’s Michael Eifert on Saturday, May 30, at the UMMC Arena in Ekaterinburg, Russia. The event will stream live worldwide on DAZN, with coverage beginning at 11 a.m. ET / 8 a.m. PT. Main event ring walks are expected at approximately 2:40 p.m. ET, though timing may vary depending on the length of the undercard bouts.

For Bivol, the fight marks the end of a lengthy layoff and the beginning of what could be another significant chapter in one of boxing’s most accomplished careers.

The Russian champion enters with a record of 24-1 (12 KOs) and remains widely regarded as one of the sport’s premier technicians. His combination of footwork, timing, defensive awareness, and punch volume has allowed him to defeat an impressive list of opponents that includes Canelo Alvarez, Gilberto Ramirez and Artur Beterbiev, all future Hall of Famers.

Nicknamed “Diesel,” Eifert has spent much of the past three years holding his place in the sanctioning-body rankings while waiting for a shot at a world title. He last fought in August 2024 against Carlos Eduardo Jimenez, winning by TKO in round 2 of a scheduled 6.

Oddsmakers have installed Bivol as one of the largest favorites of any major title fight this year.

At the time of this writing, sportsbooks have installed Bivol as a 25 to one favorite, while Eifert is +900.

Bivol has spent years competing against elite opposition and has proven himself against multiple world champions. Eifert is a capable contender, but he has never faced an opponent with Bivol’s combination of experience, skill, and championship pedigree.

Bivol’s style also presents a difficult puzzle. He is an efficient puncher, controls distance exceptionally well, and consistently wins rounds through activity and precision. Many observers believe Eifert’s best chance lies in making the fight physical early and attempting to capitalize on any ring rust Bivol may have from his 15-month absence.

On paper, this is Bivol’s fight to lose.
