Canastota Prepares for the 2026 Induction Weekend
The boxing world is preparing for one of its most important dates of the year.
The International Boxing Hall of Fame (IBHOF) is just a few weeks away from celebrating the 2026 Induction Weekend, taking place from June 11 to 14 in the iconic “Boxing’s Hometown.”
This annual event is not just a celebration, but the ultimate recognition of the careers that have defined the history of the sport. During four days of activities, Canastota and the Turning Stone Resort Casino will become the global epicenter of pugilism to honor the new members of the Class of 2026.
This year’s ceremony is particularly significant, as it will see the Hall of Fame induction of legendary figures such as the great middleweight champion Gennadiy “GGG” Golovkin, alongside Antonio Tarver and Britain’s Nigel Benn. Women’s boxing will also hold a place of honor with the induction of Mexican pioneer Jackie Nava and Japan’s Naoko Fujioka.
Furthermore, tribute will be paid to key figures outside the ring, including expert cutman Russ Anber, Dr. Edwin “Flip” Homansky, and, posthumously, the respected referee Frank Cappuccino, among other distinguished observers and veterans.
The weekend will be marked by tradition and direct contact between idols and their fans. Highlighted events include:
Exclusive talks with legends of the sport.
The historic fist-casting ceremony.
The 5K run and the traditional Parade of Champions.
The Gala Banquet and Fight Night.
The Official Induction Ceremony, the crowning moment where boxing’s highest honor is bestowed.
Since 1989, the International Boxing Hall of Fame has been dedicated to preserving the legacy of the “sweet science.” We invite all enthusiasts to join this celebration of the rich history and tradition that unites the global boxing family.
