Anchorage: In all, the leaders spoke for just over 10 minutes.

The mood here is one of shock and confusion. People were expecting something more concrete would come out of this, even if it was just a temporary ceasefire or Putin committing to a second meeting.

Instead, we got a lot of talk about how constructive this encounter was, but no indication of what, if anything, was agreed to.

Putin briefly mentioned an “agreement”, but Trump was clear that there was no deal at this point.
Probably the biggest thing Trump got out of it was Putin saying – as Trump has always claimed – that the war would not have broken out if Trump were president.

There is also shock that the news conference was over so quickly without a single question being taken.
