Emerging playmaker Tom Duffy is reportedly on the verge of signing a two-year extension with the Brisbane Broncos, keeping him at Red Hill until the end of 2028.
As revealed by CODE Sports, the 22-year-old has not formally signed the fresh contract, but his management and the Broncos are in the advanced stages of negotiations.
Duffy, who has played three games for the Broncos this season, has been handed the No. 6 jersey and will partner Adam Reynolds in the halves for this weekend’s Queensland derby against the Gold Coast Titans at Suncorp Stadium after coach Michael Maguire sensationally benched Ezra Mam.

“I have a really high opinion of Tommy and we want to keep him here,” Maguire said of Duffy.
“When you have a competitive squad, which you want as a coach, you give players the opportunity and in this case Tom gets his opportunity this week.
“I’ve been really impressed with what Tom has done since joining us. He’s got a great attitude and is willing to learn which is a great sign, so he gets his chance this week.”

Next season, Duffy could find himself battling veteran Ben Hunt and incoming recruit Jonah Pezet for the coveted halfback spot following Reynolds’ retirement.
Pezet, currently representing the Eels after a one-season switch from Melbourne Storm, has penned a three-year deal with the Broncos from 2027, but the 23-year-old is battling form and injury woes this season at Parramatta.
“Right from his first game at the club, he’s been outstanding,” Hunt said of Duffy.
“He’s a kid that is really loved around the group. He’s always out on the field trying to improve himself and up in the video room trying to get better.
“I think he’s got a bright future.”
Reigning premiers Brisbane, who have slid down to 11th on the NRL standings after suffering four consecutive defeats, will face the Titans in the Queensland capital on Saturday at 7.35pm AEST.
