LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – Kentucky Sports Radio’s KSBar and Grille will shut down its full-time operations this weekend after nearly eight years of being a staple meeting ground for Kentucky sports fans.
Thursday was KSR’s last time hosting their radio show in the building.
Fans came out to fill the bar’s seats for their morning show. Owner and KSR host Matt Jones says the decision to close full-time operations was driven by financial pressures in the current market. But he said he was pleased to see the place full Thursday in support of the KSR crew.
“It’s awesome. I didn’t expect it. It’s a great surprise and it just shows that we have the best fan base. To come out and to be here is awesome,” Jones said.
Despite the closure, Jones says KSBar will still be open for future UK game days. The last day of full-time operations will be Sunday, June 7.
