Baby Elephant Gets Busted Being a Bully Then Pretends He’s Innocent originally appeared on PetHelpful.

Little Lenny, the baby elephant, has definitely entered the terrible toddler stage—and now he’s just out there making sure everyone in the herd knows it.

Lenny, a 6-month-old African elephant from the Umani Springs herd, is quickly proving that kids of all shapes and sizes go through a naughty phase. Honestly, his behavior is reminiscent of a pint-sized bully in a play yard full of giant mammals.

In a recent video shared by the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, Lenny’s up to his usual tricks again. As the herd is headed home for the afternoon, he charges his playmate, Mwana, and gives her a surprising headbutt to the side of her head.

He’s obviously just testing the waters, but Mwana isn’t in the mood for his mischief. She gives him a little nudge, but he goes in for round two. Mwana stands her ground, and the two elephants are in a tense little standoff. Then, just when it seemed like their roughhousing session could escalate, the matriarchal members of the herd appear from behind—and they are coming in hot!

The nannies—as they are referred to—come up from the rear with quick, thundering feet and swinging trunks. It’s as if they are using their “mom voice” to tell Lenny to knock it off!

Just as they get close, Mwana gives Lenny a final push with her trunk and quickly walks away like a boss. The little troublemaker gets the sense that someone bigger is coming his way. He turns, gives his best, “I wasn’t doing anything face,” and hightails it out of there. Then he continues down the path pretending he was not just out there being naughty!
