Team Tips: The Bulldogs’ come-from-behind win over Hawthorn last Friday night should do their confidence the world of good, and you’d expect Luke Beveridge to make minimal changes where he can help it. Forward Lachie McNeil will be forced to miss the clash, however, after a nasty concussion. And untried 2024 draftee Luke Kennedy will make his AFL debut, the club confirmed on Tuesday afternoon after he racked up 15 tackles and 15 disposals in the VFL. Sam Davidson (26 disposals, one goal) and Harvey Gallagher (29 disposals, one goal) were also among the VFL side’s best in a loss to Box Hill. Small forward Cody Weightman returned successfully from his long layoff at the top level, and you would expect him to continue building up his match minutes across the next few weeks. Veteran Adam Treloar only played 58 per cent game time in the Round 13 match, in a possible sign he’s close to the edge of Beveridge’s best 23 right now. Key forward Will Lewis competed hard but was ultimately quiet all night, though Sam Darcy’s continued absence means he’s structurally important to his side. Team Tips: Fresh off yet another one-point win this season, Matthew Nicks’ side will be forced into at least three changes ahead of their Thursday night blockbuster in Docklands. Star veteran Taylor Walker will miss through suspension after pushing young Cat Connor O’Sullivan into a marking contest last week, and will ironically be a straight swap for Riley Thilthorpe — who was banned for the Round 13 thriller. Two-time flag winner Callum Ah Chee simply can’t catch a break right now, having suffered yet another hamstring strain that will sideline him for the best part of a month. Additionally, scans have revealed a calf injury for the out-of-contract Jordon Butts, who failed to play out the game against Geelong. Fellow key defender Mark Keane reportedly won’t be the man to replace Butts, with Nine’s Corey Norris reporting on Tuesday night that he’ll spend another week in the SANFL, despite having successfully returned from a leg fracture via the SANFL last Saturday afternoon. He also reported that star livewire Izak Rankine (calf) won’t play against the Bulldogs, despite the club listing him as a test earlier on Tuesday. Emergency Luke Pedlar could be a chance to replace Ah Chee, kicking three goals at the weekend in the SANFL. First-year draftee Archie Ludowyke kicked five goals in the reserves’ 44-point win over South Adelaide, while out-of-favour ruck Reilly O’Brien dominated to finish with 24 disposals, 43 hitouts, 10 marks and a goal. Mid-season draftee Hugo Hall-Kahan was admirable on AFL debut, and should be backed in once more as he continues to learn Adelaide’s system.

A concussion suffered by Tom Stewart means there’ll be at least one forced change at selection, with Seven’s Mitch Cleary reporting on Tuesday that he’s set to miss against Gold Coast and potentially next Thursday against Fremantle. There’s “mystery”, though, over when exactly he was admitted into protocols, with the news of Stewart’s concussion coming to light five days after the Cats’ loss. Lawson Humphries should push to return from an ankle issue, and Mitchell Edwards should also be available after being managed. Jeremy Cameron has been dealing with nerve complications from his arm surgery nine months ago. Cameron was well below his best against Adelaide in a game he went goalless as the lowest-rated player on the ground. But the superstar forward figures to keep soldiering on. Unless the Cats look to keep managing players, Mark O’Connor might be due for a spell. That being said, his hand has already been forced with hamstring injuries last Saturday evening to both Lachie Weller and Will Graham that will see them miss the coming weeks. The Suns said on Tuesday night that the pair will miss “several matches”. Wil Powell will also miss at least this week’s clash, sidelined in the “short term” due to a shoulder injury. In more positive news, Jamarra Ugle-Hagan (12 disposals, 4.4) and Jake Rogers (19 disposals, one goal) successfully returned from injury, while Sam Clohesy was dominant for his 43 disposals at 83.7% efficiency. Team Tips: The most obvious and unfortunate team change for the Demons is Brody Mihocek, who underwent surgery on a neck fracture late on Monday night after a tackle-gone-wrong on King’s Birthday. Unsurprisingly, a timeline on any return isn’t yet clear, but his absence looks set to open the door for fellow veteran Jake Melksham to return to the fold. Changkuoth Jiath could also return from his knee injury, after not being selected last weekend. After a hot-and-cold start to life at AFL level, Latrelle Pickett could benefit from a spell in the reserves after an inefficient outing against Collingwood. Emergency Jack Henderson continued his strong vein of reserves form to accrue 28 disposals and six tackles for Casey, while mid-season draftee Lukas Cooke has impressed instantly down in defence as he racked up 13 intercept possessions from his 32 disposals and 11 marks.

His direct replacement looks certain to be Kane Farrell, should he be given the all-clear with his adductor niggle. He’s a test. Team Tips: The Swans found a way to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat against St Kilda on Sunday, but they’ll have to back it up away from home without two key cogs. Tom McCartin (concussion) and Justin McInerney (hamstring) both went down during the SCG shootout, leaving Dean Cox’s defensive stocks particularly vulnerable. Meanwhile, AFL journalist Tom Morris reports McInerney is set to miss up to 10 weeks in a hammy blow amid a career-best season. With Lewis Melican and Dane Rampe still at least a couple of weeks away from a return, the second-placed Swans may turn towards uncapped third-year defender Patrick Snell as an option. Defender-turned-forward Joel Hamling could also be called upon to return to his old position, and was an emergency over the weekend alongside Harry Cunningham who was dominant in the VFL side’s three-point loss. It’s unlikely there will be many unforced changes, but Peter Ladhams, Corey Warner and Billy Cootee were also among the best in the reserves as they mount their case for a recall.

Stephen Coniglio suffered a hamstring strain against the Demons, so GWS will be forced into at least one change. Max Gruzewski has technically been playing Hogan’s role, but you sense Kingsley could go taller and Hogan replaces Coniglio. Hogan could also come in for Leek Aleer, and one of Angove, Angwin, Harry Oliver or Harry Rowston replaces Coniglio. Jack Buckley (hamstring) is set to miss three to four weeks.
