Scottie Scheffler is 18 holes away from winning his fourth major.

The task at hand seems pretty simple given the current state of Scheffler’s game. He needs to hold on to a four-shot lead at Royal Portrush on Sunday.

Scheffler has never relinquished a 54-hole lead at a major. It’s hard to imagine him losing the tournament to Haotong Li, his Sunday playing partner, and Matt Fitzpatrick.

Rory McIlroy, Xander Schauffele and others made strong gains on Saturday, but they are still far off from Scheffler, so they may be relegated to competing for second place.
