CLAYTON South will remain the home of Walkinshaw TWG Racing after all, at least for the short term.
It emerged last year that the Supercars team which fields Chaz Mostert and Ryan Wood was set to move into a brand-new, all-encompassing Walkinshaw Group facility in Dandenong South worth $100 million.
That shift was initially touted to take place in April 2026, only for that timeframe to come and go.
Now, it’s understood that the race team’s relocation is on hold indefinitely.
It is, after all, less than three years removed from finalising its move into the current Nursery Avenue premises.
That had represented an upgrade from its historic ex-Holden Racing Team headquarters – just around the corner on Centre Road – where it had been based since the mid-1990s.
The impressive Nursery Avenue site is extra special having been home to the team’s drought-breaking championship success last year as well as its development of the all-new Gen3 GR Supra and Toyota V8 engine.
No timeframe has been outlined for when the squad will join the rest of the Walkinshaw Group in Dandenong South.
