Geelong gun Jack Bowes has been ruled out with hamstring tightness an hour before the hosts’ Friday night blockbuster against his former side Gold Coast at GMHBA Stadium.
The Cats (8-5, 120.2%) have lost three of their last four encounters against the Suns, but are crucially still yet to lose to them at their home ground in eight clashes. Bowes underwent run-throughs on the ground two hours before the first siren, but will ultimately be replaced by George Stevens for his third AFL game.

Meanwhile, the travelling Suns (7-5, 112.2%) will be hellbent on replicating their stunning performance against Chris Scott’s side in Opening Round, which saw them trump Geelong by 56 points in Carrara.
Damien Hardwick made four changes — three forced — to his side from last week’s Q-Clash, with Charlie Ballard the headline inclusion for his first AFL game in close to two months. For the Cats, five-time All-Australian Tom Stewart has entered concussion protocols and will miss, while Gryan Miers has been managed as he manages a partially torn ACL.
