Australian Ethical Investment is seeking domestic and international investors to join an engagement with four Australian banks on deforestation.

The banks set to be the subject of dialogue are Commonwealth Bank, National Australia Bank (NAB), ANZ and Westpac.

Bonnie Graham, the asset manager’s impact and ethics analyst, told Responsible Investor: “The scale of deforestation in Australia is on par with the palm oil sector in Indonesia but receives far less attention from global and domestic financial institutions.
