Live updates: Canada vs Bosnia and HerzegovinaSat 13 Jun 2026 at 6:39am

Sat 13 Jun 2026 at 6:39am

76′ Sub Canada

Tani Oluwaseyi is off – I liked the way he’s played without having that final bit of quality.

Cyle Larin is coming on.

Sat 13 Jun 2026 at 6:37am

Sat 13 Jun 2026 at 6:37am

74′ Two more Bosnia Herzegovina changes

Kerim Alajbegovic and Ivan Sunjic replace Esmir Bajraktarevic and Amar Memic.

Sat 13 Jun 2026 at 6:36am

73′ Yikes!

Ismaël Koné almost loses control there.

He was taken down and stayed down earlier in the passage of play but did not get the decision.

Then he gave away a free kick for a very soft challenge on Samed Baždar, and marched towards the referee with real intent on his face.

He is lucky Tani Oluwaseyi was there to push him away otherwise he’d have been booked at best.

Sat 13 Jun 2026 at 6:32am

69′ Advert break

One of the rule changes I don’t like now.

The “hydration break” where we will no doubt be informed about all sorts of ways we might want to hydrate ourselves should we have spare cash.

Sat 13 Jun 2026 at 6:30am

66′ Another goal-line clearance!

Canada are absolutely dominating!

But they still can’t get through!

Bosnia and Herzegovina are just getting numbers back though as another Canadian chance goes begging.

There always seems to be at least four defenders in the box all the time – this time it was Nikola Katić who cleared a header off the line.

Sat 13 Jun 2026 at 6:28am

Sat 13 Jun 2026 at 6:28am

65′ Chance Canada!

A brief moment of space for Stephen Eustáquio, who takes a touch and fires the ball towards goal but the ball flies over the crossbar.

He wants a corner but he kicked that one straight out for mine.

Sat 13 Jun 2026 at 6:27am

Sat 13 Jun 2026 at 6:27am

64′ Canada chance!

Now it’s two of the subs combining.

Ahmed playing in David, who is going to be a real handful for the Bosnia Herzegovina defence.

Sat 13 Jun 2026 at 6:26am

Sat 13 Jun 2026 at 6:26am

63′ Promise makes his presence felt

Promise David makes his mark immediately, at least his elbow did on the Bosnia Herzegovinian player’s face.

Sat 13 Jun 2026 at 6:25am

Sat 13 Jun 2026 at 6:25am

61′ Subs aplenty for Canada, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Canada is rolling all the dice here.

Three attacking players coming on.

Liam Millar, Jonathan David and Tajon Buchanan are all off.

Jacob Shaffelburg, Ali Ahmed and Promise David come on for Canada.

For the visitors it’s Armin Gigović and Samed Bazdar replacing Ivan Basić and Jovo Lukić.

Sat 13 Jun 2026 at 6:21am

Sat 13 Jun 2026 at 6:21am

58′ Chance Bosnia Herzegovina

Tarik Muharemović leaps highest but can’t keep his header down under the crossbar.

Sat 13 Jun 2026 at 6:20am

Sat 13 Jun 2026 at 6:20am

57′ Bosnia Herzegovina gives away a throw in under the new rules!

I do like this rule.

The Bosnia and Herzegovinian player was dallying with the throw in and the referee said, fine, if you don’t want it, Canada can have it.

Love this new rule.

That’s the first time we’ve seen it implemented and it is going to speed up the game a lot.

Sat 13 Jun 2026 at 6:17am

Sat 13 Jun 2026 at 6:17am

54′ SAVE!(Getty Images)

Up the other end Ermedin Demirović is played in behind and it takes a really good stop from Maxime Crépeau’s foot to deny him the second of the match.

Wow, this has opened up a bit!

Sat 13 Jun 2026 at 6:16am

Sat 13 Jun 2026 at 6:16am

53′ POST!

OH MY!

Canada with a golden chance to level this tie!

Sead Kolašinac with a magical touch after Richie Laryea is played in thanks to some magical interplay on and around the edge of the penalty area.

Laryea slides the ball past Nikola Vasilj and for all intents and purposes must have felt like he had scored.

But the enormous centre back, with his face to goal, raced back, reading the play perfectly, and stuck out his foot, the ball cannoning back off the post and out to safety.

Wow, wow, wow.

Sat 13 Jun 2026 at 6:13am

Sat 13 Jun 2026 at 6:13am

51′ Canada continues to press

Now they look to go over the top again, Davis is the player running onto the ball this time but once again Vasilj speeds off his line and gets to the ball with far more breathing space this time around.

Sat 13 Jun 2026 at 6:12am

Sat 13 Jun 2026 at 6:12am

49′ Bad collision in the penalty area(Getty Images)

Oh wow!

VAR is going to have a look at this after a lovely long ball over the top sends Tani Oluwaseyi through.

Nikola Vasilj comes out rapidly and punches the ball clean off the head of Oluwaseyi but then they collide heavily.

Ball first and so it won’t be a penalty.

In fact, Oluwaseyi is offside.

The crowd boos, but that’s good refereeing.

Sat 13 Jun 2026 at 6:11am

Sat 13 Jun 2026 at 6:11am

47′ Great save!

Magic skill from Tani Oluwaseyi on the byline to escape the attentions of two Bosnia Herzegovina defenders!

It takes a very strong palm from Nikola Vasilj to deflect his fierce low cross away from danger.

Sat 13 Jun 2026 at 6:09am

Sat 13 Jun 2026 at 6:09am

46′ Chance Bosnia Herzegovina

Early chance for Ermedin Demirović, who has a long-range sighter from a long way out – hit low and hard and saved comfortably enough by Max Crépeau.

Sat 13 Jun 2026 at 6:07am

Sat 13 Jun 2026 at 6:07am

46′ Back for the second half

Bosnia Herzegovina get things underway in the second half.

Lots of people in the posh seats clearly deciding their half time pies are more important than watching the football… Loads of empty seats where Ryan Reynolds and Mike Myers et al have been watching from.

Physical match, will it cost someone dear?

BIH have been defending well. CAN had a couple of diamond cut chances and failed to capitalise, so might pay the price. If BIH can avoid a send off (or two) I think they’ve got this. Gotta love a coach in a double-breasted suit jacket.

– Big Ben

Morning Big Ben.

Three red cards in yesterday’s opening match – I would be semi-surprised if this one remains 11 vs 11.

I did think it would be Canada who were more at risk of a send off given their early enthusiasm.

But now I’m not so sure – can’t win a send off if you don’t have the ball, and Bosnia Herzegovina only had 17 per cent of the ball in that first half, with the rest of the time in contest.
