There is no denying that Stephen Curry checks almost every box as a role model and is one of the NBA’s biggest ambassadors. The 6’3″ guard behind-the-3-point-revolution, the Golden State Warriors guard will indeed go down as one of the most influential players of all time.
Apart from his brilliance on the hardwood, the four-time champion also enjoys the ideal family-man image, having married his childhood sweetheart, Ayesha, with whom he shares four children, Riley, Ryan, Canon and Caius. Despite the grueling NBA schedule, Curry makes sure to devote quality time to his loved ones, something he learned from his parents.

Born in 1988 to Dell and Sony Curry, Steph was fortunate to grow up in a basketball household, with his father playing 16 seasons in the NBA, most notably with the Charlotte Hornets, who, back in March, honored the 61-year-old with a jersey retirement. On the other hand, his mother served as an anchor in the house, helping Curry develop a tough mental grit.
Unfortunately, Dell and Sonya called it quits in 2021, ending their 33-year-old marriage. Nonetheless, their family values remain deeply ingrained within their three children, something Steph hopes to pass on to his children as well.

“Family is everything … The biggest thing my parents taught us was always to support each other, to have each other’s backs. Not everything is winning championships and riding on parade buses. Now Ayesha and I are trying to establish that with our kids,”stated the two-time MVP.
Carrying forward the family heritage
A devoted husband and father, Steph married his longtime girlfriend and Canadian actress, Ayesha, in 2011. The two set couple goals, be it from the Warriors guard appearing in his wife’s cooking tutorials or Ayesha taking care of the house and kids when Stephen is on the road.

That said, Curry makes sure to make up for the lost time whenever possible during the 82-game NBA calendar. Not one to make a lot of public appearances or do interviews, the veteran guard makes sure to spend most of his free time with his family.
“When I come home, I’m Dad … and that’s the best thing in life. It doesn’t matter how many points I score,” said the greatest 3-point shooter of all-time, who also had some parenting tips as far as raising four kids of different age brackets was concerned.

The family life chaos
Speaking to People Magazine in 2025, Curry opened up about parenting and the challenges associated with managing a teen and a toddler at the same time, with his oldest kid, Riley, being 13 and his youngest, Caius, being 15 months old.

“Every day is a wild experience, and I’m enjoying every little bit of it. Fans would see there’s no such thing as balance, but you try every day to figure it out,” mentioned the twelve-time All-Star, who, during the course, learned how each child needed something different from the parent.
Nevertheless, Steph enjoys every bit of it, especially learning something new from his kids every day. The Warriors guard hopes he can do a job as great as his parents did for him, especially when passing on the necessary life lessons.
