One of those key signs that you might be getting older than you think you are is when you hear the sons of your childhood idols are leaping to the top levels of the sport they played. So far, a large number of fans in their 30s and 40s, it may come as a surprise to hear that Donovan McNabb’s son is about to play college football.
Donovan McNabb Jr. is a three-star collegiate prospect in the Class of 2027, currently playing for Brophy College Prep in Phoenix, Arizona. According to 247Sports, he is the 107th-best wideout in his class. Last year, he finished his season with 280 receiving yards and five touchdowns. But despite having one season of high school ball left to play, he decided on Friday where he wants to attend school, announcing his commitment to UNLV.
The elder McNabb played quarterback, unlike his son, who suits up at wide receiver. He played collegiately at Syracuse before moving on to the NFL, where he would play 13 seasons and be named to the Pro Bowl six times.

Now, his son will also have his chance to pave his way on the gridiron at an elite level, although he will start his journey at a different position and with a different program than his father. But if McNabb Jr. is able to replicate some of the magic that his father was able to create during the prime of his career, it could bode well for both UNLV fans as well as his future in football.
