For much of their existence, the Los Angeles Knight Riders have been searching for answers. Having won just four of their first 16 matches across three seasons, LAKR came perilously close to owning one of the most unwanted records in franchise cricket. Only an 11-run victory over San Francisco Unicorns in their final league game spared them that ignominy, having managed just a solitary win in their previous nine matches.
