They look to hold off the rest of the field in the Dow Championship, which features one pair just a stroke behind, another two strokes back, and two pairs who are three strokes back. Choi and Kim took the lead in the third round from Gina Kim and Yana Wilson. That pair opened with the lead in the first round, but slowly surrendered the lead to Choi and Kim. Alison Lee and Lilia Vu are two strokes behind in third place.

Choi and Kim finished the third round with a 69, one under par for the second time this tournament. They shone in the second round when they shot a tournament best 62 overall, eight under par.

In the third round, they finished with four birdies and three bogeys. That was a letdown after a second round which saw the pair dominate with 12 combined birdies and zero bogeys. A clean scorecard. Both Choi and Kim birdied the 16th, third, and seventh holes.

Since this tournament was added to the LPGA Tour in 2019, a different pair has won the tournament. Choi and Kim are in a position to join that list and continue the trend of new champions.
