TV host Lynette Bolton has shared an update on her cancer battle following the removal of a tumour in her breast last week.
Diagnosed with an aggressive breast cancer in December last year, the wife of Sydney Swans player Jude Bolton has since been sharing her cancer journey on social media.
Lynette, the star of Channel 7’s Travel Oz show, started chemotherapy shortly before Christmas last year and had a lumpectomy last week. Now, the results are in.
“Pathological Complete Response — no cancer cells found,” Lynette gushed.
“We bloody did it.
“Thank you for every message, prayer, positive thought and moment of support over the last 191 days.
“I will be forever grateful.”
Lynette was flooded with comments congratulating her, including a message from The Swans saying: “fantastic news”.
Other wellwishers included Channel 7’s The Morning Show host Kylie Gillies, who wrote: “WONDERFUL!” and Lana Wilkinson, who noted that: “This is the best news! Congratulations, so happy for you all.”
Meanwhile, comedian Dave Hughes wrote: “Every day is a gift for all of us. Thanks for the reminder.”
Previously, Lynette shared that she’d had “a couple of lymph nodes” removed in the surgery.
“Now we play the waiting game … waiting on the official pathology results,” she wrote at the time.
“Thank you EVERYONE for your beautiful messages. One thing this journey has taught me is just how loved and supported we can be when we allow people in. Thank you for carrying me through this surgery and through the last six months.”
Ms Bolton appeared on several television series including Dancing with the Stars, WAG Nation, Oz Travel and Sydney Weekender.
She started chemo six days before Christmas after she noticed a lump on her right breast.
“Countless doctor appointments, mammograms, ultrasounds, biopsies, MRIs, blood tests, breast surgeon and oncology appts later (even a day surgery) AND today I kicked off the first of 12-24 weekly rounds of immunotherapy and chemo,” she said.
“It’s happened fast. Really bloody fast.”
