Not only because of their heated history, but because of a specific tweet Topuria sent when “The Baddy” lost to Gaethje earlier this year.
“Little sausage, the only thing you had to do was beat a 38-year-old guy. You just lost the biggest paycheck of your life. You were going to get rich if you won. Justin, all I can say is congratulations… and I’d like to tell you to get ready, but you’re screwed no matter what.”
Well, Pimblett had a perfect callback locked and loaded after Topuria suffered the same fate.
“The only thing you had to do was beat a 38-year-old coming off of a 5-round war with me,” Pimblett wrote. “Instead, you quit on your stool like the little b*tch you are. I’m a real fighter and went 5 rounds, you’re a little pretender chorizo! Congratulations @Justin_Gaethje rematch for undisputed?”
Pimblett also let Topuria have it on his YouTube channel.
“You quit, you little b*tch,” Pimblett said. “My face was worse than yours, and you f—king quit after four rounds. I didn’t have an ounce of quit in me…Quitney Houston.”
Of course, a few things still have to fall into place.
Topuria will be out for an extended time. Pimblett could win and chase his own title shot. Or UFC could go in a completely different direction with a certain Irish superstar competing on the same UFC 329 card.
Either way, Pimblett vs. Topuria suddenly feels very alive again.
And after last night, “The Baddy” finally got his chance to fire back.
