Versatile young tall Matt Whitlock will play his second AFL game after being selected in North Melbourne’s team to face Richmond in Hobart on Sunday.
Whitlock, who played as a defender on debut in Round 4 this season, earned his selection after impressing as a forward in recent weeks at VFL level and has been named as the tactical substitute.
Forward Paul Curtis also returns after serving his one-match ban for striking as does captain Jy Simpkin, who has missed the past two games due to a knee injury.
Defender Riley Hardeman suffered a concussion in the Round 22 defeat to Greater Western Sydney and will miss what will be the club’s final AFL home game in Tasmania.
Forward Zane Duursma has been omitted, along with ruck-forward Brynn Teakle.
