Hollywood star Hugh Jackman is facing a major roadblock in his new relationship with Broadway star Sutton Foster, with sources claiming his “workaholic” lifestyle is too much to bear.
The Greatest Showman actor called it quits on his relationship with Australian actress and producer Deborra-Lee Furness in 2023, ending their 27-year marriage.
The 57-year-old then went public with Foster one and a half years later, with the pair since pictured at a string of high-profile events together.
Reports now suggest Jackman’s “workaholic” lifestyle is placing a strain on the new relationship and leaves little room for the couple to spend quality time together.
A source close to the couple told Women’s Day that Hugh’s “expensive divorce” has led him to increase his workload, which is proving too much for Sutton to bear.
“Hugh’s got a lot of ground to make since that rather expensive divorce, so he’s thrown himself into work,” the source said.
“Sutton’s finding it hard to be by Hugh’s side at so many events, and he invites her to every single one.
“Sadly, the biggest casualty of all is Hugh and Sutton finding quality time together – they’re like passing ships sometimes.”
The source added that the Younger actress is beginning to understand how Deb must have felt during her marriage to Jackman.
“Hugh’s a workaholic, and she’s starting to understand how lonely Deb must have felt at times,” the source added.
Furness has publicly spoken about the struggles she has faced following her shock split from her husband, whom she met on the set of the Australian television series Correlli in 1995.
“My heart and compassion goes out to everyone who has traversed the traumatic journey of betrayal,” she said last year, according to BBC reports.
“It’s a profound wound that cuts deep, however I believe in a higher power and that God and the universe… is always working for us.”
Though Jackman and Foster went public following their respective divorces, the timeline of their relationship has long been the subject of speculation.
Jackman and Foster first crossed paths in 2021 while starring together in the Broadway production of The Music Man and remained friends throughout the years.
