For her first arrival at the event for two years, the princess – forever a sustainable stalwart – choose to rewear a design spotted twice before in 2022; at Wimbledon that year and also during a trip to Jamaica.

However, it seemed that the best accessory to don was the royal-adjacent mother-in-law. Case in point? Alizée Thevent, who looked the picture of Ascot elegance in a ruffled neck, floral-strewn concoction paired with a jaunty boater and a delectable mini top-handle bag. Meanwhile, Carole Middleton, mother of the Princess of Wales, looked beautiful in blush, peaking out from a sizeable saucer which she paired with a matching handbag and shoes, naturally.
They join the ranks of the well-spruced revellers who turned heads for all the right reasons yesterday when the inaugural style idol of the event was, naturally, Zara Tindall. The equestrian daughter of Princess Anne put on a pastel-hued-to-perfection, puff-sleeved custom lilac ensemble designed by Rebecca Vallance. ‘What I love about Ascot is that people still genuinely enjoy dressing for the occasion… It’s one of the few events where style remains such an important part of the experience, and I think that’s something worth celebrating,’ said Vallance.
