Advice against swimming at a beach in Devon has been lifted following a warning about sewage.
The agency said it was investigating after it detected “elevated readings of ammonia” at Exmouth Beach on Friday.
A spokesperson said the pollution had been found at Littleham Brook, which flows into the sea.
It said: “Our monitoring confirms that water quality returned to normal [on Friday] and is remaining stable so the precautionary advice against bathing has been lifted.”
The agency said South West Water was supporting its continuing investigation.
The water company has been contacted for comment but said on Friday that it had not had any storm overflow spills in the area.
