A new species of walking sharks have been discovered in the waters off of eastern Papua New Guinea.
The Dudgeon’s Walking shark was named after the person who identified it, Australian marine researcher Christine Dudgeon from Sun Shine university.
The reef-dwelling shark uses its fins to walk on reefs and is also known for its skin colour, a magnificent mosaic of brown and white patterns that camouflage the creatures against the reef environment they inhabit.
