With Giannis Antetokounmpo’s future in Milwaukee still surrounded by trade speculation, the Minnesota Timberwolves have reportedly made another attempt to explore a potential blockbuster move.

According to NBA insider Jake Fischer, Minnesota has reappeared in Giannis trade talks, trying to make another run at acquiring the Milwaukee Bucks superstar.
“I’m told that the Timberwolves, for example, indeed circled back to the Bucks this week to see what it would take to make another run at pairing Antetokounmpo with Anthony Edwards,” Fischer reported.
“The Stein Line revealed in late January that a partnership with Edwards had quietly appealed to Giannis for some time. Yet Milwaukee is said to have asked for even more now than the teams discussed in the winter when Minnesota was at the forefront of the Giannis Trade Chase along with Golden State and, of course, Miami.”
Bucks not satisfied with current Giannis offers
Milwaukee reportedly hopes to gain clarity on Antetokounmpo’s future before the draft, but Windhorst suggested there is no certainty that a trade will happen.
“Yeah, so far, from what I am told, the Bucks have yet to receive an offer that they’re willing to accept for Giannis Antetokounmpo, which is somewhat nearing what happened at the trade deadline last February,” he said during ESPN’s Get Up. “And while there is this deadline of the draft, and I am told that they intend to try to trade him by the draft, I think it’s possible, there’s some percentage chance, that they don’t find the deal that they like.”
“Miami has been the team that’s been most aggressive, I think, in trying to get him, but they’ve got seven or eight different pieces they could trade, none of them what I consider super premium, and I think the Bucks probably want all of them.”

While Giannis sweepstakes remains unclear, the Miami Heat continue to be viewed as one of the strongest potential destinations.
Miami was heavily linked to Antetokounmpo before the NBA trade deadline and reportedly pushed aggressively in an effort to complete a deal.
The Heat also possess valuable future draft assets, including a 2026 first-round pick swap, a 2029 first-round pick swap, a 2030 first-round pick, a 2031 first-round pick swap, and a 2032 first-round pick.
What the Bucks reportedly want from Miami
Earlier reports suggest that Milwaukee is seeking a package centered around multiple players and draft capital.
According to the report, the Bucks could be looking for:

Such a package would allow Milwaukee to add young talent while replenishing its draft assets for the future.
The report also stated that the Bucks would prefer to reroute Tyler Herro and/or Nikola Jovic in separate transactions to acquire additional draft compensation.
Milwaukee is reportedly not interested in taking on Jovic’s recently signed four-year, $62.4 million extension, which pays $15.6 million annually through 2030.
Herro, meanwhile, is entering the final season of his current contract and is set to earn approximately $33 million on an expiring deal.
