Arriving from Anadolu Efes Istanbul after his first season in European basketball, Nwora put on a show offensively with 16.9 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.6 assists per match in 34 EuroLeague games this season, playing 27 minutes on average.
Nwora’s season wasn’t unnoticed by other teams, most notably Hapoel Tel Aviv.
Firstly reported by Sport 5, confirmed by Meridian Sport, Hapoel tried to bring Nwora and was ready to pay a significant buyout for Zvezda’s guard.
Zvezda’s president Zeljko Drcelic had a short comment on the matter:
“A lot of teams called, but Nwora is not for sale,” Drcelic shortly said for Meridian.
Earlier this season, Drcelic said that Nwora, along with Jared Butler, has a contract for next season, with the only exit clause related to potential NBA offers.
