The nominees for the 66th annual TV Week Logies have been announced, with a new award category revealed.

The Bruce McAvaney Award for Most Popular Sports Presenter, named for the host and commentator, will reward an Australian journalistic talent in sports reporting.

Former ABC News Breakfast presenter and current Muster Dogs host Lisa Millar will battle it out for the coveted Gold Logie, facing competition from back-to-back nominees Julia Morris and Poh Ling Yeow, as well as the 2026 Logie Awards host, Robert Irwin.

The ABC has 41 nominations with Mystery Road: Origin — which was written and directed entirely by First Nations creatives — picking up five nods, the most of any ABC program this year. Goolagong, The Piano, Dog Park, The Family Next Door, Austin, and Muster Dogs all earned three.

Goolagong stars Lila McGuire and 10-year-old Eloise Hart both picked up Most Popular New Talent nods for playing tennis legend Evonne Goolagong Cawley.

Amazon’s Prime Video was the most-nominated streamer on the back of Jacob Elordi war drama The Narrow Road to the Deep North and the second season of comedy Deadloch.

When are the 2026 Logie Awards?

The 2026 Logie Awards will take place on the evening of Sunday, August 16 at The Star in Sydney.

Who is hosting the 2026 Logies?

Media personality and wildlife conservationist Robert Irwin will host this year’s Logie Awards.

“Throughout my life, my goal has been to spread an important message not only through our work at Australia Zoo, but also on the screen,” the 22-year-old says.

“I grew up watching the Logies with my family, so this is certainly an honour.”
