The New York Rangers have signed goaltender Dylan Garand to a two-year contract extension on Sunday.
Garand, 24, only appeared in three games with the Rangers last season, going 2-0-1 with a 1.62 goals-against average and .948 save percentage.
He also went 16-15-2 with the AHL’s Hartford Wolf Pack last year with a 2.83 GAA and an .896 save percentage.
The 6-foot-1 netminder will likely be competing for backup goaltending duties after veteran goalie Jonathan Quick retired at the end of the 2025-26 campaign.
Garand was drafted 103rd overall by the Rangers in the 2020 draft.
The Victoria, B.C., native represented Canada twice at the World Juniors, taking home a gold medal in 2022 and a silver medal in 2021.
He also represented his country at the 2025 World Hockey Championship in a fifth-place finish.
