Filip Hrgovic had told the world that his fight with David Adeleye would be a “walk in the park,” but after going 10 hard rounds with Adeleye on Saturday, Hrgovic had a new perspective on his opponent.

“He’s a tough motherfucker, man,” Hrgovic told Queensberry cameras after the fight.

Hrgovic won a clear but hard-earned decision over Adeleye, and kept himself in the mix for a big fight later this year or in early 2026, possibly one with rising star Moses Itauma, who smashed Dillian Whyte in Saturday’s main event.

Hrgovic did get rocked a few times by Adeleye (14-2, 13 KO), whose limitations were clear, but it’s also obvious he does have sincere power. The eighth round saw Adeleye go down, only to nearly drop Hrgovic (19-1, 14 KO) in retaliation moments later.

“It was a crazy round,” Hrgovic said. “I knocked him down and I should have finished him, but I don’t know what happened. I was a little too relaxed and then he caught me with a few good shots and almost knocked me down.”

“Congrats to him. It was a good fight. I made some mistakes, but it was a good fight.”
