Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has announced the federal government will make a 16-cent cut to the Heavy Vehicle Road User Charge for one month.

The news comes following a meeting of the national cabinet on Monday — the sixth time the group has convened since the US and Israel began their attacks on Iran.

At the meeting, Energy Minister Chris Bowen and Fuel Supply Taskforce coordinator Anthea Harris told the national cabinet that Australia’s fuel supply outlook was secure in the near-term.
